What do I need to provide to collect money transferred to me through MoneyGram at Oceanic Bank ?

- 8-digits Reference Number (12345678)
- Expected Amount
- Sender’s Name and Country where the money was transferred from
- Valid means of Identification:

  • For transfer amount below $300 or its equivalent, any secondary means of ID such as Security or Government agency issued IDs ( ie Police, Army, Ministry, Immigration)
  • For transfer amount in excess of $300 or its equivalent, a primary means of identification such as National ID card, Driver’s License or an International Passport , is required
    - Account Identification ( Based on CBN policy): Recipient is expected to have an account with Oceanic Bank or can be identified by anyone who has an account with the Bank

    Q. Where can I receive money sent to me through MoneyGram?
    A. You can receive your money at any over 370 branches of Oceanic Bank in Nigeria.

    Q. Can I transfer money from Nigeria other country through MoneyGram?
    A. No. In Nigeria, MoneyGram  service can only be used to receive money from other countries through MoneyGram but not to send out money.

    Q. What is the maximum amount of money that I can receive through MoneyGram?A.$10,000 or its equivalent is the maximum amount that can be received through MoneyGram service in a single transaction. This threshold is enforced by MoneyGram at the send location.

    Q:   Does the beneficiary need to pay any charge?
    A.   No. All charges are paid by the sender.

    Q:  In what currency would the beneficiary be paid?
    A.   Beneficiaries can either be paid in Naira or US Dollars; depending on the currency specified by the sender at the point of transferring the money.

    Q:  What is the maximum number of times that I can receive money through MoneyGram in a day?
    A. There is no limit. You can receive money as many  times as possible.
